Savannah Goldfields (ASX:SVG) said it is preparing for the resumption of gold production at its Georgetown gold project in Queensland before the end of the month as maintenance on the Georgetown gold processing plant is continuing on time and within budget, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The haulage of around 950 tonnes of crushed gold-bearing material from Charters Towers to the Georgetown run-of-mine pad is expected to be completed within a week, it added.

The haulage of around 7,100 tonnes of stockpiled gold-bearing material from the run-of-mine stockpiles at the Agate Creek mine is also underway.

The gold producer's shares jumped almost 4% in recent Wednesday trade.
