TechTarget Inc. has published a market analysis highlighting recent trends in mainland China's smartphone market. According to research from Omdia, the market declined 3% year on year in the third quarter of 2025, with total shipments reaching 67.2 million units. Despite ongoing market adjustments and intensified competition among top vendors, vivo regained the leading position with 11.8 million units shipped, securing an 18% market share. Huawei followed with 10.5 million units and a 16% share, while Apple climbed back into the top three with 10.1 million units and a 15% share. Xiaomi and OPPO rounded out the top five, each holding around a 15% market share. The analysis notes that local brands are focusing on product differentiation through design, battery capacity, camera performance, and the expansion of AI-driven features to enhance user experience. Omdia forecasts modest growth for the market in 2025, supported by ongoing subsidy programs and continued innovation.
