Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), a subsidiary of Shell plc, in partnership with Sunlink Energies and Resources Limited, has taken a final investment decision on the HI gas project offshore Nigeria. The project will supply 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day at peak production to Nigeria LNG (NLNG), supporting Shell's strategy to expand its global LNG volumes by 4-5% annually until 2030. Production from the HI field, located about 50 kilometers offshore, is expected to begin before the end of the decade. The initiative is set to bolster Nigeria's LNG exports, contribute to national economic development, and create jobs in construction and operations.
