CME Group (CME) plans to launch financial contracts tied to sports games and economic indicators by year-end, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The company will offer the contracts through futures commission merchants, including the merchant CME is establishing with Flutter Entertainment's (FLUT) FanDuel unit, according to the report. Sources also told Bloomberg that the company could also use other similar platforms.
CME Group did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of FanDuel competitor DraftKings (DKNG) were down more than 2% in recent premarket activity Friday.
