Rackspace Technology Inc. has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing progress toward net-zero carbon emissions and improvements in operational efficiency. The report highlights a 10% reduction in total emissions from 2023 to 2024, including a 20% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 9% reduction in Scope 3 emissions. The company's near-term and long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2025, using a 2023 baseline. Rackspace also reported that approximately 28.4% of electricity used in its operated data centers in 2024 was matched with renewable sources through Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Certificates. Other measures include a formalized circular IT lifecycle policy, third-party audited emissions baselines, and increased employee certification in cloud and sustainability skills. The company's long-term net zero target covers all emission scopes with a goal to neutralize residual emissions by 2045.
