Elanco Animal Health Inc. has received the first-ever Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Credelio™ (lotilaner) to treat New World screwworm $(NWS)$ infestations in dogs. This authorization provides veterinarians and pet owners with a treatment option in advance of the fly being detected in the U.S. The EUA was granted based on published research demonstrating that Credelio achieved 100% efficacy against NWS larvae within 24 hours in naturally infested dogs. No other organizations were mentioned as recipients of this regulatory approval.
