1200 GMT - Jeep maker Stellantis reported strong results for North America, but it will likely face questions about whether this performance can be sustained, Bernstein analysts say in a research note. The auto company reported a 29% rise in North America revenue due to a 35% increase in shipments for the region. This will likely be the talking point of the results, as the big shipments jump contrasts with a more modest increase in registrations for the same period, according to Bernstein. Shipments drive revenue and profit recognition, the analysts say. While there seemed to be a lot of inventory reductions among dealers, the discrepancy suggests many vehicles are going directly to fleet channels like daily rental, which tend to be less profitable, the analysts add. Shares fall 6.3%. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
