Godawari Power & Ispat (NSE:GPIL, BOM:532734) has resumed normal operations for the production of iron ore pellets at its unit at Raipur in Chhattisgarh, India, on Thursday, according to a same-day disclosure to the Indian stock exchanges.

In late September, the 1.8 million tons per annum (MTPA) iron ore pellet plant was shut down after the collapse of the refractory of the side wall of the travel grate, which led to the loss of six human lives.

There was an estimated loss of production of about 150,000 metric tons (MT) of iron ore pellets during the shutdown period. However, the company said it will be able to achieve its yearly production targets, as it does not need to take any further maintenance shutdowns during the current financial year.

The company's shares were up nearly 2% in recent trade.
