Datang International Power Generation's (HKG:0991, SHA:601991) net profit attributable to shareholders in the third quarter jumped 61% to 2.13 billion yuan from 1.32 billion yuan in the previous year, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing on Wednesday.

The Chinese power company's Hong Kong shares rose 2%, while Shanghai shares slipped over 1% during midday trade.

Earnings per share climbed 67% year on year to 0.0934 yuan from 0.0560 yuan.

Operating revenue slipped 1.6% to 32.2 billion yuan from 32.7 billion yuan a year earlier.
