Stocks in Australia slipped during early trading Monday, as the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index fell 0.4% to 8845.20.
Among local companies with a market cap of at least 15 billion Australian dollars ($9.82 billion), Pro Medicus is the biggest early laggard, falling 1.9%, followed by shares of Cochlear, which declined 1.8%. Shares of Suncorp Group dropped 1.4%.
Brambles is the biggest leader this morning, rising 0.8%, and Woodside Energy Group climbed 0.6%. SGH rounds out the top three movers, as shares climbed 0.5%.
The U.S dollar held steady against the Australian dollar at 1.53 Australian dollars.
In the bond markets, the 10-year Australian government bond yield increased 2.93 basis points to 4.335%.
