Medallion Metals (ASX:MM8) said its Ravensthorpe gold project in Western Australia advanced to the final stage of assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, administered by the Australian government's Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

Under statutory timelines, and subject to no requests for additional information, a determination on the proposed action is expected in December, per the filing.

Approval under the act is the key primary environmental approval outstanding for the proposed development of the project. Secondary approvals under Western Australia legislation will also be required.
