Air New Zealand (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) set a new 60-kilogram limit for pets and their carriers on smaller domestic flights following a series of staff injuries linked to lifting heavy animal crates in tight aircraft holds, Radio New Zealand reported Friday, citing Nathan McGraw, the airline's chief safety and integrity officer.
Larger pets can still be transported through specialist pet transport companies or on jet services equipped to handle heavier crates, McGraw told RNZ's Morning Report.
