Amcor (ASX:AMC) is on track to restore investor trust as the company maintained its fiscal 2026 core earnings per share (EPS) guidance of $0.80 to $0.83, Jarden Research said in a note on Thursday.

The company delivered fiscal first-quarter core EPS at the mid-point of management

guidance of between $0.18 and $0.20, indicating that while volumes across the group continued to soften, cost control and synergies helped offset earnings downside.

There's a need to assess the likelihood of the company achieving its cost-saving targets in fiscal 2027, how quickly selling non-essential assets will help reduce debt, and whether underlying sales volumes stabilize without further decline to gain more confidence in the company's outlook, according to the investment and advisory firm.

Jarden estimates fiscal 2026 core EPS at $0.802, the low end of management's guidance range.

The firm reinstated coverage of Amcor with an overweight rating and a price target of AU$15.90 per share.

Amcor shares rose nearly 1% in afternoon trade Friday.
