WASHINGTON-President Trump has invited all Republican Senators to a breakfast at the White House on Wednesday morning, convening the GOP lawmakers the morning after big elections in Virginia and New Jersey and as the government shutdown enters its 36th day.

The meeting, first reported by Punch Bowl News, was confirmed by a White House official. It comes as Trump has been increasingly vocal about pushing to end the filibuster as a way out of the shutdown and as he and his team have grown increasingly impatient about the lack of progress on any deal to re-open federal operations.
