Marriott Vacations Worldwide CEO John Geller Resigns at Board's Request; Company Postpones Investor Day

Marriott Vacations Worldwide (VAC) disclosed in a regulatory filing Monday that John Geller has resigned at the board's request from his role as president and chief executive officer, effective Nov. 10. Geller also resigned as a member of the board.

Geller's resignation is not due to a disagreement on any matter relating to its operations, policies or practices, the company said.

The company said it appointed board member Matthew Avril as interim president and chief executive officer, effective immediately, following the departure of Geller.

The board has begun a search for a permanent CEO, and is postponing its planned Investor Day that was scheduled to be held on Dec. 17 until further notice, the company said in a statement.

Also, the company reaffirmed its 2025 guidance issued on Nov. 5.

Shares of Marriott Vacations Worldwide were up over 4% in recent Monday trading.
