Americas Gold & Silver's output nearly doubled in the quarter thanks to efficiencies and improvements at its Galena complex in Idaho.
On Production:
Consolidated silver production rose 98% year-over-year and 11% quarter over quarter. It produced 765,000 ounces during the quarter, or about 877,000 silver equivalent ounces.
Lead output also rose, increasing by about 23% quarter-over-quarter to 2.3 million pounds.
The Galena complex produced around 440,000 ounces of silver, representing a 36% increase over a the prior-year third quarter thanks to more consistent access to higher silver grade tetrahedrite ore.
Chairman and Chief Executive Paul Andre Huet said some of the work it has done at Galena said that it has been working to upgrade the operations there that should help with output. For example, Americas replaced a hoist motor four days earlier than planned, which is expected to provide a 100% productivity improvement.
Silver production at the Cosalá operations in Mexico increased by 70% year-over-year to around 325,000 ounces.
