Top Midday Stories: Amazon to Sell Used Ford Vehicles on Website; Novo Nordisk Cuts Wegovy, Ozempic Prices

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down, the Nasdaq Composite was higher, and the S&P 500 was roughly flat in late-morning trading Monday, as investors look ahead to the publication of Nvidia's (NVDA) earnings and the latest jobs data.

In company news, Amazon.com (AMZN) will sell certified Ford Motor (F) pre-owned vehicles through its website, Ford said Monday. Amazon shares were down 0.7% around midday, while those of Ford were down 1.1%.

Novo Nordisk (NVO) said Monday that its Wegovy and Ozempic medications are now available at a price of $199 per month to new self-pay patients until March 31. The introductory offer is only available for the first two months of therapy, and it applies to the two lowest doses -- 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg -- of the two medicines. In addition, the company said it is reducing the standard monthly self-pay price to $349 per month from $499, starting today. Novo Nordisk shares were up 0.9%.

Sealed Air (SEE) said Monday it has agreed to be acquired by affiliate funds of CD&R in an all-cash deal valued at $10.3 billion. Under the terms of the deal, Sealed Air stockholders will receive $42.15 in cash per share. Sealed Air shares were down 3.2%.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals (JAZZ) said Monday that its late-stage trial evaluating Ziihera in combination with chemotherapy, with or without the PD-1 inhibitor tislelizumab, showed highly statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in progression-free survival in patients with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. Jazz shares were up past 19%.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) said Monday it has agreed to acquire Halda Therapeutics for $3.05 billion in cash. The deal will likely close within the next few months, subject to antitrust regulatory approval and other closing conditions, Johnson & Johnson said. Shares of Johnson & Johnson were up 1.5%.

UBS Group (UBS) Chair Colm Kelleher has privately discussed moving the bank's headquarters to the US with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing three people familiar with the conversation. UBS shares were down 0.3%.

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B) disclosed late Friday in a regulatory filing that it has a $4.3 billion stake in Alphabet (GOOGL, GOOG). Berkshire Class A and Class B shares were both down 0.1%. Google Class A and Class C shares were each up 4.4%.
