Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) rebranded its loyalty program as part of an overhaul, which will transition to the "Koru" brand from April 2026, the airline said in a statement Wednesday.

The airline added a new top tier to the program called "Koru Black." To qualify, members must earn over 3,200 status points, including 1,920 from qualifying flights in a year.

The base tier of the loyalty program will be called "Koru Bronze," allowing travelers the ability to earn airpoints and status points. The current silver tier will become "Koru Silver," the gold tier will become "Koru Gold," and the elite tier will become "Koru Platinum."

The members of the new top tier will receive access to a Koru Premier Lounge at the Auckland International Airport, the ability to share some Koru Black benefits with guest nominees, as well as additional recognition upgrades and valet parking vouchers. Koru Platinum will also receive access to the Koru Premier Lounge.

The airline's Australian and Kiwi shares each shed 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
