Cyprium Metals' (ASX:CYM) board approved the cathode project restart plan for the Nifty copper complex in Western Australia, authorizing "significant" expenditures to maintain the project schedule for expected first production of copper cathode in mid-2026, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
Early works and long lead items were approved, the filing said. The restart of the project includes the re-establishment of drainage systems and ponds necessary to receive copper-rich solution from a leaching operation on the existing pads, as well as the refurbishment of the solvent extraction plant.
The firm's shares rose almost 5% in recent trading on Thursday.
