Novartis (NVS) said Wednesday it plans to expand its operations in North Carolina to create a new manufacturing hub with end-to-end manufacturing capabilities.
The hub, part of its $23 billion investment in US infrastructure over the next five years, is to ensure all key medicines for US patients are manufactured in the US, the company said.
The expansion includes building a new site in Durham with two new facilities for manufacturing biologics and sterile packaging, Novartis said. The hub is expected to open in 2027-2028.
