Paramount Skydance (PSKY) won the rights to broadcast most UEFA Champions League soccer matches in the UK from 2027 to 2031, the Guardian reported Thursday, citing sources with knowledge of the tender process.

Paramount's bid exceeded the 1 billion pounds ($1.31 billion) currently paid by TNT, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), the report said.

Under the deal, Paramount will air every Champions League game in the UK, except for the first pick of Tuesday night matches, the report said.

Amazon.com's (AMZN) Prime Video, having won that tender, will hold the first pick of Tuesday matches in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France beginning in 2027, the report said.

Paramount and Amazon did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Paramount shares rose 2.4% in recent Thursday trading, and Amazon fell 0.1%.
