1431 ET - The pandemic era pull-forward in remodeling demand is still dragging down sales for home improvement retailers, Piper Sandler analyst Peter Keith tells WSJ. The remodeling and renovation boom during the pandemic has led to less demand for projects now. "Our research suggests that the reason why these larger remodel projects are still sluggish is because we're still kind of in this post-COVID hangover, and, and it just takes a little bit longer to get out of that," Keith says. "Getting through the pull-forward of demand we think will allow the remodel activity to pick up in early 2026." (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
