Proteomics International Laboratories (ASX:PIQ) said performance data on Australian thoroughbred racehorses supports the potential of its OxiDx unit's oxidative stress testing technology in providing insight into the physiological readiness of racehorses, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
New findings gathered using the OxiDx test showed that thoroughbred horses racing without oxidative stress were 76% more likely to place and 49% more likely to win than horses with oxidative stress, the filing said.
Horses racing without oxidative stress increased the likelihood of winning or placing in the top three, the filing added.
Shares of the company rose 5% in recent Monday trade.
