Singapore's manufacturing output increased 29.1% year-on-year in October, backed by increased outputs from several clusters, according to data from EDB Singapore on Wednesday.
Excluding the biomedical sector, industrial production rose 15.8% on year, with the volatile biomedical cluster's output expanding 89.6% from a year ago.
In addition to the biomedical cluster, output increased for the transport engineering, electronics, precision engineering and chemicals clusters, while general manufacturing contracted 5.6% during the period.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, output increased 11.5% in October. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output was up 11.7%, the data showed.
