Eastern & Oriental (KLSE:E&O) posted a profit attributable to owners of 50.2 million ringgit in the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30, soaring from 30.4 million ringgit a year earlier.
Earnings per share jumped to 0.0198 ringgit from 0.012 ringgit a year earlier, according to a Friday Malaysian bourse filing.
Revenue of the engineering service provider jumped to 204.4 million ringgit, from 171.0 million ringgit a year prior, it said.
The board did not recommend a dividend for the period.
Eastern & Oriental shares closed nearly 7% lower Friday.
