Volkswagen Encounters Slowdown in Pace of Job Cuts, FT Says, Citing Memo

--Volkswagen has had a slowdown in the number of workers in Germany agreeing to quit their jobs as the carmaker works through a cost-cutting plan, the Financial Times says, citing an internal memo seen by the newspaper.

--The company aims to cut 35,000 jobs at German VW brand sites by 2030, but it remains 10,000 short of that goal as the number of staff accepting redundancy or early retirement fell in the three months to September, according to the memo, the FT says.

--The pace at which the company could plan new departures slowed over the summer, when many employees were away on holiday, the FT says, citing a source. Volkswagen declined to comment on the exact rate of progress with job reductions, the report says.
