European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Little Changed in Monday Trading

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts opened the week little changed late Monday morning, edging 0.1% higher to 1,572.55 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which advanced 10% and 2.4%, respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and telecommunications company Nokia (NOK), which increased 1.7% and 1.5%, respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO) and internet advertising firm Criteo (CRTO), which fell 7.8% and 1.4%, respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Eni (E), which was down 1%.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and Bicycle Therapeutics (BCYC), which rose 3.6% each. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA), which were up 3.2% and 1.7%, respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which dropped 5.2%. It was followed by utilities company National Grid (NGG) and communications company WPP (WPP), which lost 1.6% each.
