ANZ Group Holdings Limited has published an analysis highlighting the strong momentum of Australia's beef sector as it heads into 2026. According to the Summer 2025/26 Agri InFocus Commodity Insights report, the industry is experiencing record production levels, firm cattle prices, and solid export demand despite global uncertainty. Slaughter rates in 2025 are about 10 percent higher than the previous year, yet cattle prices have stayed robust due to strong demand from export markets and feedlots. The report notes favourable rainfall forecasts in parts of eastern Australia, which could support herd retention, while tighter conditions in southern regions may lead to earlier cattle turn-off. Key factors shaping the outlook for 2026 include the pace of the US herd rebuild, changes in China's import behavior, global trade policies, and competition from other major exporters. The industry enters the new year with a large and stable herd, expanding feedlot capacity, and ongoing challenges from shifting global supply and seasonal conditions.
