Community Health Systems, Inc. has completed the sale of select ambulatory outreach laboratory service assets, including certain patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations across 13 states, to Labcorp for approximately $194 million in cash before transaction expenses. The CHS-affiliated health systems will continue to operate their inpatient and emergency department laboratories, as well as provide laboratory services for hospital-based care. This move is expected to expand patient and provider access to Labcorp's comprehensive testing and laboratory services, while allowing CHS health systems to focus more on core services and enhance the overall patient experience.
