AptarGroup Inc. has acquired Sommaplast, a Brazil-based provider of oral dosing pharma packaging solutions including closures, droppers, dispensers, and dosing cups. The move is expected to strengthen Aptar's presence in Brazil and position the company to benefit from the country's fast-growing oral dosing, over-the-counter, and nutraceutical markets. Sommaplast, which has operated for over 20 years in São Paulo and employs more than 400 people, is recognized for its dosing expertise and strong customer relationships. Aptar plans to maintain Sommaplast's family-owned company culture while leveraging its global network and operational synergies to expand Sommaplast's offerings in the oral dosing pharma markets.
