Shares of Coupang fell after the company said a hack exposed personal data of 33.7 million accounts, all in Korea.

The stock dropped 9.2% to $25.58 in premarket trading.

The leak exposed customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses and certain order histories, Coupang said. It did not reveal any payment details, credit-card numbers or login credentials, said the company.

Coupang said the unauthorized access began on June 24. Coupang blocked the unauthorized access route, strengthened internal monitoring and hired security experts, it said.

"Protecting all customer information is Coupang's highest priority. We take this responsibility extremely seriously and maintain comprehensive data protection and security measures and processes," Coupang Chief Executive Park Dae-jun said in a letter.
