Stellantis (STLA) and Ferrari (RACE) shares advanced in Thursday's premarket activity a day after US President Donald Trump announced a proposal to weaken motor vehicle fuel-economy standards and targets set by his predecessor.

Shares of Stellantis, maker of the Jeep Cherokee and other sport-utility vehicles, were up 3.5% while Ferrari was up 1.6%.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it proposes to set general fuel economy requirements to 34.5 miles per gallon on average by 2031. That is down from 50.4 miles per gallon currently in place, news outlets reported.
