Clean Energy Fuels Corporation has announced the successful completion of its renewable natural gas $(RNG)$ facility at South Fork Dairy in Dimmitt, Texas. The facility is now producing pipeline-quality RNG and has begun injecting it into the interstate natural gas pipeline. The project, completed in partnership with South Fork Dairy and environmental firms, captures methane from dairy waste, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to diesel fuel. The RNG produced has received full U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval to generate Renewable Identification Numbers under the Renewable Fuel Standard program, with expectations to generate California Low Carbon Fuel Standard credits in early 2026. Both the dairy and RNG facility are fully operational following restoration after a fire during construction.
