Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) started an about 650-meter initial drilling program at the North Knoll prospect within its Kangankunde rare earths project in Africa, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The program will test the depth and continuity of previously reported mineralization, the filing said.
The prospect could provide additional high-grade starter feed, reduce unit mining costs, and boost early-stage production if mineralisation at depth is confirmed, the filing said.
The company expects the initial phase of drilling to be completed within three weeks, the filing added.
