Nucor Names CFO Stephen Laxton as COO

Nucor (NUE) said Thursday it appointed Chief Financial Officer Stephen Laxton as the company's president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

The company said it will conduct a search for a new CFO, adding that Laxton will continue in the role until a successor is named.

Laxton succeeds David Sumoski, who will retire from the company effective June 13, 2026, Nucor said.
