General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics Corporation, has been awarded a $285 million contract by the Commonwealth of Virginia to enhance its cybersecurity infrastructure. The contract, awarded in October, includes a one-year transition period, a five-year base period, and three one-year option periods. Under the agreement, GDIT will provide advanced cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and zero trust solutions for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), serving 67 state agencies and over 8.8 million residents. The services will include vulnerability management, 24/7 security operations, and support for post-quantum cryptography initiatives. This contract extends GDIT's cybersecurity and technology services to state and local governments across the United States.
