E.W. Scripps (SSP) said Friday its Scripps Sports unit has entered an exclusive broadcast agreement with Varsity Brands' Varsity Spirit unit to televise the 2026 Pro Cheer League season across the US.

All five live events from the inaugural season will air nationally on Scripps' sports and entertainment network ION between Jan. 16 and March 27, the company said.

The league will feature professional cheerleading teams -- Atlanta Air, Dallas Drive, Golden State Grit, and Miami Metal -- in a new televised format with paid athletes, it said.
