Rocket Lab Corporation announced it has been awarded a prime contract valued at $816 million by the U.S. Space Development Agency $(SDA)$ to design and manufacture 18 satellites for the Tracking Layer Tranche 3 (TRKT3) program under the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). The contract includes a base value of $806 million with up to $10.45 million in options. The satellites will be equipped with Rocket Lab’s Phoenix infrared sensor payload and StarLite space protection sensors. In addition to this contract, Rocket Lab is a supplier of subsystems to other TRKT3 prime contractors, which could bring its total capture value for the program to approximately $1 billion. This follows a previous $515 million SDA contract for 18 satellites under the Transport Layer-Beta Tranche 2 program, bringing Rocket Lab’s total awarded SDA contracts to over $1.3 billion.
