Financial stocks were edging higher premarket Friday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advancing by 0.1%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.3% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.1% higher.

Paychex (PAYX) was down 1% even after the company posted higher fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue, and raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings outlook.

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) was up more than 1% after the company said it will launch a share buyback program of up to 3.96 billion euros ($4.64 billion) on Monday.

Primis Financial (FRST) shares were up more than 1% after the company said its board authorized a repurchase program for up to 750,000 common shares of the company.
