GenusPlus Group (ASX:GNP) confirmed that the Ausgrid contract it received in 2024 for the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone sub-transmission works is now unconditional, with construction set to start in February 2026, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The AU$140 million contract was subject to the execution of the project deed between Ausgrid and the Energy Corporation of New South Wales.

The project deed has now been executed, and works under the construction contract will be completed in the first quarter of 2028.

The company said that the works will include demolition of existing 132-kilovolt (kV) and 66-kV sub-transmission lines, construction of about 110 kilometers of new 132-kV and 66-kV dual- and single-circuit sub-transmission lines, replacement of 30 kilometers of earth wire with optical ground wire, and installation of 2 kilometers of all-dielectric self-supporting cable.

The company's shares were down nearly 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
