Stock futures rose modestly Tuesday ahead of the release of U.S. gross domestic product data for the third quarter and a reading on consumer confidence.

These stocks were poised to make moves Tuesday:

U.S.-listed shares in Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk surged 7.3% ahead of the opening bell after the Food and Drug Administration approved the first GLP-1 pill, a tablet formulation of Novo's Ozempic and Wegovy. Novo Nordisk said Monday that it plans to start selling the new pill in the U.S. in early January at $149 a month for the starting dose. Rival pharma giant Eli Lilly, which sells weight-loss injectable Zepbound, was falling 1.1%.

Huntington Ingalls Industries rose 3.7% to $366.53 after jumping 5% to hit a record high of $353.52 the previous session. Investors piled into the shipbuilder's shares after President Donald Trump unveiled a new battleship class, named after himself, that is intended to become the centerpiece of his so-called Golden Fleet. Last week, the Navy announced plans to commission a new class of frigates, selecting Huntington Ingalls to build the vessels.

Meanwhile, Parsons Corp advanced 5% after the defense engineering company said it had signed a contract for the Missile Defense Agency Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense, with a ceiling of $151 billion.

Micron Technology slipped 0.2% after starting the week by rising 4% to hit a record high of $276.59. The memory-chip maker's shares have been rallying ever since a stellar earnings report last week, lifting Micron's market capitalization above $300 billion for the first time ever on Monday.

Trump Media & Technology Group climbed 1.3%. Shares, which trade under the ticker DJT in reference to Trump's initials, slumped 10% on Monday amid uncertainty about whether the Truth Social parent will be able to pull off the pivot to nuclear fusion it announced last week.

Gold mining stocks rose after the precious metal surged to yet another record high. Newmont Mining added 1%, and Freeport-McMoRan gained 0.5%.

Crypto stocks were tumbling, following a 2.5% drop for Bitcoin over the past 24 hours. Coinbase Global and Strategy both fell 0.6%, and Robinhood Markets slipped 0.5%.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. rose 10% after the Israel-based logistics provider said as part of its strategic review that its board had "received competitive proposals from multiple strategic parties to acquire all the outstanding ordinary shares of the company," and it was evaluating the offers.
