Shares of FuelCell Energy declined after the company amended its open market sale agreement to increase the amount of shares of its common stock it can sell.
The stock fell 5.6% to $7.50 on Tuesday in after-hours trading. Through market close, shares are down 12% this year.
Under the amended agreement, $200 million in shares of the company's common stock may be issued and sold, excluding any prior share sales, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.
The original agreement had allowed for an offering of up to $300 million in shares. As of Nov. 6, about $1.1 million of shares remained available for sale under the agreement, according to a filing from last month.
Between Sept. 15 and Nov. 6, the company issued and sold 15.4 million shares of its common stock for gross proceeds of about $138.3 million.
