AXT (AXTI) said late Tuesday it has closed a public offering of $100 million worth of shares, in a push to bolster manufacturing capacity of its unit, Beijing Tongmei Xtal Technology.

The company said it raised the proceeds from the sale of about 8.2 million shares at $12.25 apiece, including underwriters' option to buy an additional 1.1 million shares.

Shares of the company rose about 1% in recent after-hours activity.
