1231 GMT - The French CAC 40 hits a new high as luxury stocks that dominate the blue chip index rally. LVMH, the index's largest company by market capitalization, gains 2.1%, while Hermes and EssilorLuxottica climb 2.4% and 1.4%, respectively. L'Oreal, the index's third biggest constituent, climbs 5.8%. The index is also boosted by gains for semiconductor company STMicroelectronics and oil supermajor TotalEnergies.The index is up 0.8%, after hitting an intraday high of 8317.82 points, surpassing the previous record level set Nov. 13 last year.
