IAG's CFO Departure Shouldn't Have Negative Impact -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
01/09

0926 GMT - International Consolidated Airlines Group's announcement that Chief Financial Officer Nicholas Cadbury will step down from the role from June 2026 is a surprise to the market because of the timing but shouldn't hurt the group, J.P. Morgan's Harry Gowers says. Cadbury had served a long tenure as CFO and will be replaced by the current CFO of British Airways, Jose Antonio Barrionuevo. Gowers says Cadbury did a good job steering the group out of the pandemic, and that Barrionuevo has a strong financial track record at both Iberia and British Airways. Shares are down 1.5% at 4.29 pounds. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
