The State Administration for Market Regulation has summoned polysilicon manufacturers to discuss monopoly risks and warn against consolidation, the Securities Times reported Thursday.

Among those called to a meeting were representatives from six firms, including Tongwei (SHA:600438), GCL Technology (HKG:3800), Xinjiang Daqo New Energy (SHA:688303), Xinte Energy (HKG:1799), Asia Silicon, and East Hope Group, the report said.

The companies were asked not to coordinate on production capacity and sales prices, among other concerns, the report said.

The regulatory action comes after the polysilicon sector set up a fund in 2025 to allow major manufacturers to buy outdated capacity from smaller rivals, Bloomberg reported separately Friday.
