Wayfair (W) said late Monday it has co-developed Universal Commerce Protocol, or UCP, with Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google to enhance the online shopping experience for its customers.

UCP is an open standard designed to allow smooth and secure interactions between artificial intelligence agents and retailers' platforms, the company said.

UCP will enable a new checkout experience on compatible Google product listings in AI Mode in Search and the Gemini app, Wayfair said.
