UBS CEO Ermotti Plans to Step Down in April 2027, FT Reports, Citing Sources

-- UBS Chief Executive Sergio Ermotti is planning to step down in April 2027, the Financial Times reported, citing people briefed on the matter.

-- Ermotti intends to leave after leading the integration of UBS and Credit Suisse, people familiar told the FT. His plans to depart comes as the Swiss government plans to tighten capital requirements.

--The timeline for Ermotti's exit has not been finalized by UBS's board, one person told the FT.

--Aleksandar Ivanovic, UBS's asset management chief, has emerged as one of the most likely to succeed Ermotti, people familiar with the matter told the FT. Other candidates include the lender's wealth management co-heads Iqbal Khan and Robert Karofsky, people told the FT.

-- UBS declined to comment.
