Bombardier will invest roughly 100 million Canadian dollars ($72 million) to build a new manufacturing plant in Montreal, boosting the planemaker's production capacity to meet demand for its business aircraft.

The 126,000-square-foot manufacturing centre in Dorval is set to open before the end of 2027 and will complement existing facilities, located near an existing manufacturing plant and a completion center, Bombardier said.

"As we expand our manufacturing capacity, we're positioning ourselves to keep up with global demand and solidify our position at the top of the business aviation industry," David Murray, executive vice president of manufacturing and information technology, said.

The Quebec government will provide a C$35 million repayable, non-forgivable loan under a program created to help promote the province's manufacturing sector and economy.

The new plant is expected to lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs in Quebec.
