OMS Energy Technologies (OMSE) said Thursday its Saudi Arabia unit earned American Petroleum Institute Specification 6A certification for surface wellhead and Christmas tree equipment.

The authorization positions the business to secure high-pressure drilling contracts and expand its presence in the regional upstream market, the company said.

Specialty connectors and pipes remain the largest segment for the firm, but the new certification allows for expansion into higher-value engineered wellhead solutions, OMS Energy said.
